Steps
involved in OD Interventions
Step
0: Create a core team
A
cross-functional team is created and trained to carry on the
initiative. Typically, the team consists of our consultants, HR
resources and several cross-functional resources.
Step
1: Identify existence of negative tension
This
is done through one to one interviews and/or focused group
discussions with people to identify issues/ concerns of management
and people down the line. All undesirable effects (UDEs) are recorded
and impact of these issues/ concerns/ UDEs is measured.
Step
2: Identify root cause of the negative tension
This
involves building logic (effect-cause-effect) trees … linking all
the UDEs to a few logical core problems through reflection, inquiry,
dialogue and discussion.
Step
3: Develop Solution
The
core problems are linked with the desired results. The transition is
planned by linking the core problems with the required actions to
achieve the desired results.
Step
4: Implement the Solution
A core
team comprising of client's people in different levels is involved in
implementing the solution. The implementation is done by creating
awareness through communications programmes, obtaining commitment and
initiating change through CFTs.
